Easy Home Generators

Installing backup home generators isn’t a DIY project. It all begins with a free in home visit with your Hughes Representative. First we’ll look at your average electric bill and go over all the appliances and equipment you want to keep powered during an outage. Then we determine how much total electric you’ll need for the things you want to use most. And finally we come up with a plan to make it all happen. If you just want to power the essentials or everything in the home we have a system that’s right for you.

We’ll also discuss the cost of home generators, the fuel source, long term maintenance plans, warranties and payment options, as well as finding the perfect location for the generator and transfer switch.

Home Generators: Install Step by Step

Most installations take a day or two. And your Hughes rep will take care of it all. We have a staff of in house licensed electricians, pipe fitters and installers to make sure the job’s done right. Here’s how it works:

  1. Our electrician will install your transfer switch first.
  2. After that’s installed, the team will move your generator in place.
  3. Electric lines will then be connected from your transfer switch to your generator.
  4. Once electric is hooked up, our pipe fitter will make the proper connections from the fuel source to the generator.
  5. After electric and fuel is hooked up, your generator is ready to start up and power your home or business.

Home generators what do they cost

How much will my New Home Generator cost?

Installation costs vary significantly from home to home due to the ease/difficulty of installing your fuel source (propane or natural gas), the location of the generator and transfer switch and what size home generator you want installed. A simple installation can cost as little as a few thousand dollars but costs may be substantially higher based on individual situations. A professional on site meeting with a Hughes rep is needed for an accurate quote.

What about permits?

Hughes will handle all local home generator permits and ordinances so you don’t have to. All you’ll need to do is sign a few permit forms and possibly a zoning application which we’ll deliver to your township building office for approvals.

Is the Home Generator Warrantied?

Yes. Hughes offers the best warranty in the industry for all our renewable energy systems including home backup generators. Your Hughes rep will go over all this with you during your on site meeting.

What are the generator payment options?
